FOR PARENTS & TEENS

Our focus with teenagers is much the same as it is with our adults. We focus on assisting them in making conscious choices. We speak opening about their thoughts, feelings or concerns. We are then able to guide them in understanding who they are - and who they would like to be.

Our teens are very special to us. And, they are known to make tremendous progress in a very short time! They enjoy coming in for their sessions and feel safe, comfortable and understood. Our intention for ALL of our teenagers is that they learn how to make good choices for themselves. We want them to understand how to take responsibility for their choices and the consequences that arise from the choices that are not in their best interest. We want to see them thrive and become the best and highest version of themselves . . . and most of them do!

Our teens come from all different backgrounds, religions and socioeconomic levels. Many of them come from Berkley High School. We work closely with the Counseling department, and they often refer students to us. Certified Life Coach, Darin Danaher works with the teen boys and Therapist, Jill MacDonald works with the teen girls. Both clinicians are graduates of Berkley High School.

Bridging the GAP: Communicating effectively with the people we love can be difficult for everyone, especially parents and their teenagers! We also work with teens and their parents together - to build a bridge of communication. Once the teen has established a relationship with one of us and feels comfortable, we often being in mom and/or dad to assist in the communication process. This is a highly effective route to improving parents' relationships with their teens. These years do not have to be full of fighting and frustration. Let us assist you in creating the relationship you know you can have with your teen.
